It was the end of the road for some suspected drug lords in the Federal Capital Territory as they encountered a wall they found hard to break through.
Suspected drug lords apprehended with various substances
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) announced that they conducted raids on some drug spots in the FCT and arrested 24 suspects.
The announcement was made by the FCT commander of the NDLEA, Mr Lawal Hamisu, in a statement issued by the Head of Public Affairs of the agency, Mr Jonah Achema in Abuja.
Hamisu said that different substances in different quantities were recovered: Cocaine, Rohypnols, Codeine, Cannabis Sativa.
He also said that the 14 persons who were arrested will be investigated in connection with the recovery of 34.8 kilograms of cannabis sativa.

According to the statement, the areas raided were Wuse Zone 4 and Wuse Zone 5, Wuse by Bannex plaza and Garki by Torabora, Area 1, by Gwagwalada Park, Dakwa village and abattoir in Karu.
In an event earlier on, the Chairman of the NDLEA, retired Brigadier General Buba Marwa had commended the men and officers of the agency for their efforts in carrying out their duties properly.
