Afro-juju singer, Sir Shina Peters has come out to address a paternity scandal involving him and late nollywood actress, Funmi Martins.
Funmi Martins who is the mother of nollywood actress, Mide Funmi Martins, died two months after the birth of her third child, Damilare.
An Instagram blogger has now claimed that Damilare Peters, 19, has been abandoned by his older sister, actress Mide Martins and the Afro-Juju music genre creator.
Sir Shina Peters has now addressed the claims in a video posted online on Thursday.
The juju maestro stated that he has not been in Damilare’s life for some reasons he would not disclose but has decided to take responsibility for his welfare, henceforth.
Sir Shina Peters, however, failed to establish if he is indeed the boy’s father in his video.
The recently ordained Bishop of Cherubim & Seraphim Church stated that just as he has taken care of Funmi Martins’ two other children (Tunde & Mide), he would take care of Damilare.
He also kicked against any form of crowd-funding for the boy as he’s not a beggar.
In his words, “I never said I wouldn’t take care of Damilare and it may interest you to know that I have been in talks with him on the phone and I have arranged to meet with Damilare and his uncle that he lives with soon.
“Now that people have stepped in, I will meet with him like I promised and talk to him about what he wants to do and where he’d like me to come in. I heard he wants to go into entertainment but he has to complete his education first because all of my children are educated.” he added.
Sir Shina Peters has many children among which is popular music video director, Clarence Peters who was born by actress, Clarion Chukwura.
