Popular gospel singer, Tope Alabi is currently receiving waves of backlash on social media after she made a statement that came off as condescending following a rendition by a colleague.
The viral video that started this episode had Tope Alabi publicly correcting the lyrics to a popular 2020 gospel song, ‘Oniduro Mi’ by a gospel singer Adeyinka Alayasesori. According to Alabi, it was wrong to refer to God as a guarantor because he was way more than that.
Tope Alabi Under Fire For ‘Jealous’ Statement
“God is not my own guarantor; he is more than a guarantor to me.“
“This is not about condemning the song; when you receive a song in the spirit, it is supposed to go through some refining with the holy ghost before producing it, else, you will just be singing rubbish,”
Reacting to her correction, some viewers accused Tope Alabi of being jealous but the singer waved it off saying that she was led by the spirit to shut down the statement because she loved the song too.
