Popular Nigerian singer, Peter Okoye, also known as Mr P, has taken to his social media page to ridicule the newly formed Police unit; SWAT by giving his own meaning to it.
Nigerian youths in the past few days have taken to the street to call for the end of Police unit, SARS through a peaceful protest. After lives of some protesters have been lost, the Nigerian Police finally dissolved the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) and replaced with Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT).
This has led to a lot of reactions from Nigerians who have stated that SWAT is just a way to bring back SARS which they’ve protested to end for some days now.
Reacting to this, Peter Okoye gave his meaning of SWAT while he also call on the Lagos State governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, saying this is not what Nigerian youths demanded for to end the ongoing peaceful protest.
Mr P, who is the other half of the PSquare brothers tweeted the meaning o which he gave as “SARS WITH ANOTHER TITLE”
He added, “@jidesanwoolu this is not what we demanded for sir.Ending it now oh! We move aggressively! #EndSWAT”
Meanwhile the other half of the Psquare brothers, Paul Okoye, aka Rudeboy, has also kicked against SARS. The veteran singer also released a new song “Oga” which preaches about bad governance in the country.
