Nigeria Afro-pop singer, Simisola Kosoko, popularly known by her stage name Simi, has revealed what changed her while talking about motherhood.
Simi has revealed in a recent interview that motherhood has changed her more than marriage has.
After being asked “what marriage had changed about her”, Simi replied, “Nothing really; I feel motherhood has changed me more than marriage has.”
While noting that in marriage, “it is still the two of us, and it is pretty much the same. It is just a change of address.”
The ‘Duduke’ crooner also opened up on her 2021 experience as an entertainer while revealing her successes.
Simisola, married to another singer Adekunle Gold, said, “It was an exciting year, and I did not put out any music until November.”
The singer, though noted that it was an excellent year for afrobeats, she added that she was glad to be involved in the explosion that has been happening in the industry.
Simi gave birth to her first child, Adejare, in 2020, explained that motherhood had taught her to prioritise and go easy on herself because it is a lot of work.
“You have to enjoy the moment that you have, whether in your work or with your child.” She said.
Asked what she would probably change about herself, the 33-year-old mother said she would be more patient and proactive about what she wanted outside of music.
“I want to be a more patient person in 2022,” she said.
