Senator Abdulazeez Ibrahim, 67, has been pronounced dead as his passing was described as sudden and a major loss to his immediate family, people of the state and the country, respectively.
He reportedly passed on yesterday’s night while receiving medical attention after going through a brief ailment at the Federal Medical Centre, Jalingo.
During a deliverance of some condolence messages presented on Wednesday morning, Prof. Joseph Kunini, the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, said the late Ibrahim was a political enigma whose death is a devastating blow to the state’s people.
The Speaker noted that his sudden death came when the state went through numerous challenges, especially when the State Government started making arrangements to harness some intellectual persons to rejuvenate the region.

Senator Aisha Jumai Alhassan, the younger sister to the deceased, died barely five months ago, and most people in the state are yet to recover from her sudden death.
It would be noted that Ibrahim was elected in 1999 and 2003 to represent Taraba Central senatorial district and was born in May 1957.
Sen Ibrahim later contested for the state’s governorship in 2007 under the platform of the All Nigerian People’s Party, ANPP, but lost to the late Governor Danbaba Suntai.
