Nigerian pop singer, Burna Boy has finally reacted to losing his first Grammy nomination. Oluwaburna, as he’s fondly called, had Nigeria buzzing after being nominated for the Grammy Awards in the World Best Music Album category only to lose to African music legend, Angelique Kidjo.
Not much have been heard from Burna Boy concerning the night that had the winner giving him a mention on stage. Although many Nigerians rooted for their own artist, it was undoubtedly a good win for Beninese songwriter, Angelique Kidjo who claimed her fourth Grammy Award.
In his reply to a fan who asked how he felt losing the prestigious award, Burna Boy opened up on the feeling he had that night which made him to give the name of his next album.
Burna Boy’s Reaction to Grammy Loss
In his reply, Burna Boy tweeted @burnaboy ‘’Sick. Totally sick. But my musical Mother @angeliquekidjo told me everything I needed to understand about the Grammys. So now I’m ‘’Twice as Tall’’ (that’s the name of my next Album by the way dropping in July by the grace of the most High)’’
The album that got Burna Boy a nomination, ‘African Giant’ ranks 63rd among the best 100 albums released in the 2010s. We cannot but anticipate the next album by the ‘Ye’ crooner in the coming months.
