Chelsea football club owner Roman Abramovich has today announced that he is handing over the club to a foundation.
In a statement released on the official club website, Abramovich revealed that in his years in charge as the owner of the club, every decision he has made has been in the best interest of the club.
Roman Abramovich Steps Down
Abramovich disclosed that he is handing over the “stewardship and care” of the club to the ‘Chelsea’s charitable Foundation’.
This development is coming after Mr Bryan, United Kingdom Labour MP advised the government to seize the assets of a Russian billionaire.
The statement by Abramovich read, “During my nearly 20-year ownership of Chelsea FC, I have always viewed my role as a custodian of the Club, whose job it is ensuring that we are as successful as we can be today, as well as build for the future, while also playing a positive role in our communities.
“I have always taken decisions with the Club’s best interest at heart. I remain committed to these values. That is why I am today giving trustees of Chelsea’s charitable Foundation the stewardship and care of Chelsea FC.
“I believe that currently, they are in the best position to look after the interests of the Club, players, staff, and fans.”
The 55-year-old Russian Billionaire bought Chelsea FC in 2003 and has since helped the club to become the most successful English side.
