The National Association of Resident Doctors, (NARD) are suspending their ongoing strike with effect from tomorrow the 22nd of June 2020. They began their strike on the 15th of June as a form of agitation for the non-payment of their due allowances and bonus especially the ones that accrue to treating COVID-19 patients.
Resident Doctors Suspend Strike: Reasons
Announcing the suspension of the strike, the doctors revealed that more PPEs have been provided as they demanded. They however pointed out that the supplies need to be consistent.
Resident doctors suspend strike as the Medical Residency Training Funding has now been added to the 2020 revised budget. This they said was achieved through the aid of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila. According to them, the fund will be implemented when the budget is approved.

However, in light of the above promises, the National Association of Resident Doctors gave the Government four weeks to carry out all they have promised.
