Reno Omokri has warned against calling Islam a bad religion following the gruesome killing of a Christian student Deborah Samuel who was killed by some angry Muslims for blasphemy. After the incident, some Nigerians berated the Muslim religion saying Islam is not a religion of peace.
Reno Omokri says Blame the Killers not Islam
Reno Omokri in a post shared on his IG page, with a picture of a Fulani Islamic cleric who helped to save 262 Christians by hiding them in his mosque on June 23, 2018 in Plateau State, Nigeria. He wrote: ”All of you saying Northern Muslims are bad and barbaric have forgotten that a Northern Fulani Muslim, Imam Abubakar Abdullahi, saved the lives of hundreds of Christians on June 23, 2018. There are good and bad people in every religion. Face the culprits, not their region or religion!
He also said the lady’s murder over alleged blasphemy is condemnable. However, we should not get carried away. Omokri further stated that people should watch their utterances and learn to blame the perpetrators, not Muslims and Northerners.’
