The Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, has made clear the church’s position on supporting political candidates in the forthcoming election.
RCCG released a disclaimer telling the world that the meeting between Bola Ahmed Tinubu, BAT, All Progressives Congress, APC presidential candidate, and the General Overseer of the church, Pastor E. A. Adeboye, has nothing to do with an endorsement of any sought.
The Disclaimer partly reads:
Pastor EA Adeboye and the RCCC have not and will not endorse any candidate for the 2023 General elections in Nigeria. The news reported by Daily Post is false and other News Outlets should desist from spreading false information about Pastor E A Adeboye and the RCCG as it defeats the code and ethics of Journalism and the full weight of the law will be employed if such happens in future. God bless you.
This is to say that the church never spoke on endorsing anybody.
