The Presidential Task Force, PTF on COVID-19 on Monday held a meeting with officials of the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC.
According to the PTF, the meeting is in preparation for the re-opening of orientation camps.
The PTF had earlier reeled out new guidelines for the safe re-opening of the 2020 NYSC orientation camp.
According to the guidelines, additional orientation camps will be provided in each State including the FCT.
The PTF said the provision of additional camps is to ensure the observance of physical distancing.
Also, it was stated that all orientation camps will be fumigated before the commencement of the orientation exercise.
The PTF said there will be enforcement of physical distancing, regular hand washing, use of face masks and proper hygiene in all camps.
Moreso, there will be compulsory temperature screening at every camp entrance.
However, beds in hostels will be re-arranged to allow for two-metres spacing, which will ensure physical distancing.
Lectures will be conducted observing physical distancing and will be complemented via e-learning tools.
It was gathered that COVID-19 safety measures will be part of the content of the call-up letters for prospective corp members.
Meanwhile, all corp members are required to fill the COVID-19 testing self-reporting form before they can download their call up letters.
The PTF stated that there will be a deliberate reduction in the number of participants during each orientation exercise.
Also, Hand hygiene stations will be set up across strategic locations in the camp.
