Findings have revealed the reason for the rise in COVID-19 cases in the United States of America.
A Stanford University report showed that tens of thousands of COVID-19 cases were linked to Donald Trump’s campaign rallies.
The report examined COVID-19 infection rates in 18 places across the country where Trump held campaign rallies between June 20 and September 30.
It then compared the post-rally infection rates in those counties with COVID-19 case rates in 18 comparable counties where rallies were not held.
The researchers found that the rallies resulted in more than 30,000 incremental confirmed cases of COVID-19 and over 700 deaths.
Meanwhile, an infectious diseases expert at the Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security, Amesh Adaljadescribed the report as suggestive.
However, the US has recorded the world’s highest number of COVID-19 cases since the pandemic began.
According to a Johns Hopkins University tally, the country recorded over nine million infections to date.
The USA has also recorded more than 230,000 deaths as of the time of filling this reports.
