There are possibilities that the All Progressives Congress, APC, would reopen the sales of its Nomination and Expression of Interests Forms just four days before its primary.
The party primary was initially rescheduled to hold Monday, June 6, in Abuja, since it was revealed that the leadership remained divided on the zoning of its ticket.
Another reason for possibly extending the sales period for the forms is that the party has since struggled to find a competitive candidate like that of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, which voted for Abubakar Atiku.
However, it was reported that the current state of play in the APC, has been further compounded by the differing positions of its stakeholders on the zoning palaver, a development, which has seen some governors insisting on going south for balancing, while the National Chairman of the party, Senator Abdulahi Adamu, in cahoots with a few others, would rather go north, for political expediency.
APC Extends Search for Competent Candidate
The aforementioned reason has led the leadership to consider the reopening of sales of Expression of Interest and Nomination forms to more members by way of broadening its choices for a suitable presidential candidate.
The party is in search of a flag bearer that would lift the morale of Nigerians and build confidence all over again, especially at a time like this when Nigeria is experiencing challenges.
