Nollywood actor, Odunlade Adekola has acted many roles especially in Yoruba movies as a King and this is about to become a reality. The popular movie star is set to become the next king of his hometown according to reports.
Although, Odunlade Adekola is based in Abeokuta, Ogun state, he is a native of Otun-Ekiti, Ekiti state. The actor belongs to one of the five ruling houses in Otun-Ekiti which includes Iyaba, Imuya, Obajewu, Odo Imo, and Iletun where he represents. The last monarch of the town who passed on to glory was produced from the Imuya family. Odunlade Adekola is now a top candidate among the other ruling houses as he is understood to be close to those in government.
The popular Yoruba actor who has served us with memes rose to prominence with his lead role in a Yoruba movie titled ‘Asiri Gomina Wa’ in 2003. He has since acted in multiple Nollywood movies, winning multiple awards. The multi-talented actor is now the CEO of Odunlade Adekola Film Production (OAFP). Some of his popular movies include ‘Sunday Dagboru’, ‘Monday Omo Adugbo’, ‘Ogo Oluwa’, ‘Alani Pamolekun’, ‘The Vendor’, ‘Taxi Driver’, ‘Celebrity Marriage’, and several others.
As the kingship tussle continues in Otun-Ekiti, it is interesting to know if Odunlade Adekola will still continue to feature in movies if he emerged king or if it will be the end to an illustrious career on the TV screen.
