Men of the Delta State Police command have discovered 3 decomposing bodies of unidentified men along the Illah-Ugbolu road in the Oshimili North local government area of the state.
According to the State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, DSP Onome Onovwakpoyeya, the decomposing bodies were discovered in a bush by some of the officers of the command and due to the state they were found, no one could recognise them.
According to him, efforts to see if the community leaders or residents could recognise the three decomposing bodies also proved abortive.
Onovwakpoyeya added that as at now, the cause of death of the three victims can cont be ascertained but, it looked as if the bodies were brought an dumped at the scene.
“ We don’t know the cause of death, but it is obvious that they were not killed there. Their corpses were brought and dumped there.
“For now we cannot identify who they are, because the bodies are already decomposing. Investigation is ongoing because the were dumped there.”
When speaking on the event, some of the community residents stated that the Illah-Ugbolu road in the Oshimili North local government area of the state had since been a flash point for kidnapping and a route for herds men.
One of the residents Victor Ojei, said the incident has justified the call by the local government Chairman who gave a sack notice to all the herders who have taken the bush along that road as their residence.
According to him, a waring was issued the the local government authority that everyone living deep inside the busy area should all come out and live in the community or face the full wrath of the law.
