The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Lagos State Chapter has reacted to the victory of Edo State governor, Godwin Obaseki during the Saturday, September 19 governorship elections.
In a statement issued by the party’s spokesperson in the state, Taofik Gani, the PDP promised to end godfatherism in the state.
While congratulating the Edo State governor on his re-election, the party said it had drawn strength from Obaseki’s victory in Edo State in the face of rumoured federal might.
However, the PDP hailed governor Obaseki for his ability to garner the needed vote to be declared as the winner of the governorship elections.
The party said it has renewed its commitment and resoluteness to win Lagos State.

In the meantime, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC has uploaded the result of the Saturday governorship elections in Edo state. In a tweet on Monday, the commission announced that the number of collated voters is 2,272,058 while collated accredited voters is 557,443.
INEC said the number of valid Votes is 537,407, the number of rejected Votes is 12,835 and the total votes Cast is 550,242. Also, the percentage turnout is 24.53% while the 1st Maximum Votes and the 2nd Maximum Votes are 307,955 and 223,619 respectively.
