Following the allegations levelled against a suspended Deputy Commissioner of Police, DCP Abba Kyari, the Special Investigation Panel set up by Usman Baba, the Inspector-General of Police has reportedly submitted a damning report about the super cop.
The IGP panel headed by Joseph Egbunike, the Deputy Inspector-General of Police in charge of the Force Criminal Investigations Department, submitted its findings about Kyari, a former Head, Intelligence Response Team.
Meanwhile, during its sittings, Kyari, who appeared before the panel several times, claimed he was innocent in the $1.1million Internet fraud deal, despite his weak defence.
According to a source, the panel submitted damning findings in its report, despite a claim of innocence by Abba Kyari.
You will recall that the United States Attorney’s Office, Central District of California, had issued an arrest warrant against Kyari for his alleged links to the suspected fraudster, Ramon Olorunwa Abbas, also known as Hushpuppi.

The Instagram celebrity, who is standing trial for various offences that include internet fraud and money laundering, had pleaded guilty to the charges and, if convicted, risks a 20-year-jail term.
EveryEvery.ng had reported that Kyari is in yet another scandal amidst the allegations linking him with Hushpuppi. According to Sahara Reporters, the DCP allegedly extorted 1 million naira each from seven suspected IPOB members through the Inspector-General of Police’sPolice’s Intelligence Response Team.
The seven suspects were among over fifty persons arrested during various raids in the South-East between March and June 2021.
The IGP’s team led by Abba Kyari reportedly whisked the IPOB members away to Abuja. It detained them at the former Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad headquarters, Abuja, known as Abattoir.
Also, the Kyari led IRT allegedly coordinated the mass arrests of South-East residents, whom they tagged IPOB members.
