A traditional ruler in Oyo State, the Soun of Ogbomosho, Oba Oladunni Oyewumi has reacted to the proposal of the State Governor, Seyi Makinde, for the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, LAUTECH, to operate a multi-campus system.
The Monarch, who spoke through his Private Secretary, Mr Toyin Ajamu, said such a move would be a disservice to the people of Ogbomosho and its economy.
Ajamu stated that Kabiyesi disagrees with the proposal of the governor to turn LAUTECH to a multi-campus institution.
According to him, the traditional ruler was one of the stakeholders who fought for the establishment of the university. Ajamu added that multi-campus system was not part of the proposal for the university.
LAUTECH Multi-Campus Proposal
He wondered why LAUTECH would be operated as multi-campus when there are other institutions owned by Oyo State government which are not multi-campus.
Earlier, the state government had during a meeting with students and stakeholders announced that LAUTECH will now have multi-campuses.
