The Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde has confirmed that the state has recorded another death of a Coronavirus, COVID-19 patient bringing the total number of fatality to seven in the pacesetter state.
Makinde, who announced this in a tweet via his Twitter handle on Tuesday, June 2 said the death was reported on Monday, June 1.
In a series of tweet tagged, Oyo state COVID-19 task force update, the Governor disclosed that one confirmed COVID-19 case has received its second negative test result and has been discharged.
According to the tweet, the latest patient discharged brings the total number of discharged cases in the state to ninety-seven.
However, the governor advised anyone with any COVID-19 symptoms to reach out to the Emergency Operations Centre on 08095394000 or 08078288800.
Oyo Losses Another COVID-19 Patient
You will recall that the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC had on Monday announced that the country recorded 416 new cases of COVID-19.
Out of the new cases, Oyo state recorded 10, Lagos-192, Edo-41, Rivers-33, Kaduna-30, Kwara-23, Nasarawa-18, Borno-17, FCT-14 while Katsina reported 7 cases.
Others are Abia state-5, Delta-5, Adamawa-4, Kano-4, Imo-3, Ondo-3, Benue-2, Bauchi-2, Ogun-2 and Niger-1 bringing the total number of Coronavirus cases in the country to 10,578 with 3,122 discharged and 299 deaths as of Monday, June 1.
