FC Barcelona Ousmane Dembele will remain at Camp Nou till the end of the season, as a potential Premier League move falls through.
The 24-year-old was unable to complete a move away from Camp Nou before the January transfer window closed.
Barcelona President Joan Laporta has revealed that they received an offer from an English club for Ousmane Dembele, but an agreement could not be reached due to his high wage demand.
The French winger’s contract is set to expire at the end of the season and have been given the greenlight by the club after falling out with the club hierarchy and failing to renew his contract.
Chelsea was reported to be interested in the winger and Laporta confirmed that “Several different solutions have been offered and the final one depends on the player accepting leaving for an English club.”
Dembele joined Barcelona from Dortmund in 2017 but has struggled with injuries which have hampered his stay at the club, making just 129 appearances in all competitions over his four and a half years with the team.
