Osun State Governor, Adegboyega Oyetola has announced the mandatory use of face masks in public places effective from Friday, April 24.
Oyetola made this known in a statement released by his chief press secretary, Ismail Omipidan, on Thursday in Osogbo.
According to the statement, the decision was part of the resolutions reached by the South-west Governors at its virtual meeting last week.
Mr Oyetola said the regulation would remain in place till they get rid of the pandemic.

The governor further warned residents against complacency and urged them to cover their noses and mouths whenever they step out of their homes.
Mr Oyetola emphasised that the sit-at-home order was still in place and that other precautionary measures must be observed.
As at the time of filing this report, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), said the country has 873 confirmed cases of coronavirus with 197 persons discharged and 28 deaths.
The agency said as, at 11:25 pm 22nd April, Lagos has 504 cases, FCT-119, Kano-73, Ogun-24, Katsina-21, while Osun state has 20 confirmed cases.
Oyo state has 17, Edo-17, Kwara-10, Kaduna-9, Akwa Ibom-9, Borno-9, Bauchi-8, Delta-6, Gombe-5, Ekiti-4, Ondo-3, Rivers-3, Jigawa-2, Enugu-2, Niger-2, Abia-2, Benue-1, Anambra-1, Sokoto-1, while Adamawa state has one case.
