Nollywood actress Mary Njoku has reacted to an Instagram cleric Newman Enyidede over his comment on the death of gospel musician, Osinachi Nwachukwu.
Osinachi’s death was met with an uproar on social media platforms after reports rumoured that she suffered domestic violence from her husband and died after a sustained injury.
In one of the viral reactions, a social media cleric Newman insinuated that the late singer may have stayed in the abusive marriage following God’s order.
Newman revealed that it is her cup of suffering for Christ, as everyone must have their cup of suffering while imploring people not to criticize the late ‘Ekwueme’ singer.
Newman in his now-deleted post wrote, “Away from the criticisms surrounding her death, whether she should have left the marriage or not we don’t know what God told her.
“Whether God asked her to remain in the marriage or not will only be revealed in eternity. Someone would say ‘God cannot say that’, really? Well done Jehovah’s classmate.
“Brethren, that was her own cup of suffering for everyone has their own cup of suffering for the sake of Christ.”
The comment caused rave on Instagram and was not well received as many users criticized the supposed ‘Man of God’.
Mary Njoku Reacts to Newman’s Comment
Mary Njoku reacting to the post noted that nobody deserves to suffer in the name of Christ as the bible never said one has to be beaten to death for his name.
The ROK TV CEO further disclosed that the late Osinachi led many souls to Christ and she happens to be one of those persons.
Mary Njoku wrote, “Na dem be this. Someone should please ask this man what is his own ‘cup of suffering’ for Christ. Where does he receive your portion of beating for Christ (some of us can help him).
“Where in the Bible does it say that one must be married to abuse and be beaten to death to serve Christ? If Christ was a God to pain, suffering and agony, abuse, wickedness, or oppression nobody would serve him.
“Pastoral calling is not for everybody, this woman won souls for Christ. So many souls, I am one of them.”
