To secure the release of Sunday Igboho and Nnamdi Kanu, an expert in political matters, Mr Nzuko Umunna, and his group popularly referred to as the ‘Igbo Think Tank,’ issued some possible steps to achieve these clamours.
He suggested that President Muhammadu Buhari opt for a political situation to address the various agitations for the prompt release of the activist of Yoruba Nation, YN, and that of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB.
Umunna advised that the present administration hold regular engagements with the two movements and their leaders respectively to have a common ground on the issue.
He said at a time like this, in the bid to strengthen the unification of the country’s citizens, Nigeria doesn’t need any form of political distractions as with the case of the duo.
Igboho, Kanu’s Release
The Expert further advised that what the country requires in a time like this is stability and voiding any undue activities that would set the effort of patriotic Nigerians to develop the cultural and social lifestyle of its citizens aback.
Think Tank group urged the President to “explore the opportunities provided by the intervention of South-East Governors, South East NASS Caucus, South East Council of Traditional Rulers, Representatives of Igbo Archbishops and Bishops, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Pa Mbazulike Amaechi, and some groups in the South-East to release Nnamdi Kanu and resolve his matter politically.”
