The political dramas in Ondo State has taken a different turn as the Secretary to the state Government, Honourable Ifedayo Abegunde on Monday, June 6 tendered his resignation letter.
In the resignation letter, he thanked Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu for the opportunity to serve the state and wished him quick recovery.
The letter read: ”I, Hon. Ifedayo Sunday Abegunde, the Secretary to the State Government of Ondo State, hereby tender my letter of resignation.
”I want to thank Mr. Governor for giving me the opportunity to serve the Government and people of Ondo State.
”Again, my family and I wish Mr. Governor quick recovery.
Abegunde resigns
His resignation came a few weeks after the Deputy Governor, Agboola Ajayi announced his decision to dump the ruling All progressives Congress, APC for the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP ahead of the 2020 gubernatorial poll in the state.
Also, you will recall that Agboola had earlier asked Governor Akeredolu to hand over to him the state affairs when the governor declared that he will need to isolate himself after testing positive for Coronavirus.
Meanwhile, the SSG has not declared his intention to join any political party.
