Obasanjo, in an interview with Premium Times, reacted to the controversies the letter generated noting that he only pointed out the lessons about the life and history of the dead.
Obasanjo Reacts To Criticism
He further explained that when he was younger, there was no eulogy or praise-singing when anyone known with bad character died in his community adding that they only mourn and bury such a person.
The ex-President reiterated that he was not gloating over the death of Kashamu adding that there will be bad and good lessons about anyone who passed
However, he stated that it is wrong to cover up bad histories and conducts so that the right lessons can be learnt.
