The Management of the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC has denied rumour making the rounds over the February monthly stipend for corp members.
According to the NYSC, there were speculations that Corps Members would get their February monthly stipend at the end of March 2021.
The NYSC further noted that the fake information claimed that the fund appropriated for the stipend had been expended on bandits‘ settlement.
NYSC Debunks Rumour
Meanwhile, the NYSC management enjoined all to disregard the speculations, which was described as the handiwork of mischief-makers.
The Management also admonished the originators of the falsehood to refrain from such criminal acts. However, Corps Members were advised to only rely on the information on the NYSC platforms.
Earlier, fthe Director-General of the NYSC, Brigadier General Shuaibu Ibrahim, stated that the Scheme would continue to work towards the country’s socio-economic development.
While addressing NYSC staff, Ibrahim said there was the need to consolidate the Scheme’s relevance for societal growth.
However, Ibrahim urged NYSC staff to set good examples for their Corps Members to emulate and avoid every unethical conduct that can spoil their reputation.
Ibrahim, who promised a robust Corps and Staff welfare, said the Scheme has improved its revenue generation drive through its online registration platforms, NYSC Bakery, NYSC water factory and the garment factory.
