A nurse identified as Lucy Letby has been accused of killing children in a UK hospital.
Letby has been charged with eight counts of murder following an investigation into baby deaths at the Countess of Chester hospital neonatal unit in Cheshire.
She is to appear in court after she has been arrested for the third time. The investigation into baby deaths in the hospital is said to have started in 2017.
According to reports, nurse Lucy Letby is said to be facing 8 charges of murder and 10 charges of attempted murder relating to the period from June 2015 to June 2016.
Police also reported that parents of all the babies involved were being kept fully updated on developments and were being supported by officers.
Lucy Letby worked as a student nurse for three years before she was qualified as a children’s nurse at the University of Chester in 2011.
She was arrested by police in 2018 and 2019 and was bailed pending further inquiries. Her home in the Blacon area of Chester is also reported to be searched by police in previous arrests.
