Nollywood actress Nse Ikpe-Etim has opened up about her inability to conceive a child.
In a recent interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo, the 47-year-old actress revealed how she felt inadequate after she discovered she would not be able to have children.
Nse Ikpe-Etim said she is not ashamed of her condition, but only feels inadequate as a woman anytime it is mentioned.
“I didn’t feel shame but inadequacy. I felt inadequate as a woman because every time it was mentioned I would remember. So that’s what it was,” she stated.
Nse continued, “Shame, I’m not ashamed. The least that I would be but I’m thankful for how I was brought up, we don’t tie shame to ourselves. We live through life fully and that’s how it is.”

The multi-talented actress was also full of praise for having a supportive husband through her trying times.
“My husband had stood by me through all of this because that’s the way it’s supposed to be when people say oh we need to be thankful for. What happened?? This is us, you walk in there as if it’s a partnership, what comes good, bad, ugly, it’s us just let it be,” Nse Ikpe-Etim added.
The actress got married to her husband Clifford Sule in 2013, revealed that though they are open to adoption in the future, they are focused on taking care of their dog.
“You never say never, but, right now, Clifford and I are dog parents. People should be allowed to live, what else? We are okay! And nothing defines you, not one thing defines you,” Nse stated.
Nse Ikpe-Etim has in 2018 disclosed that she was diagnosed with Adenomyosis, a condition whereby the inner lining of the uterus breaks through the muscle wall of the uterus.
