Nigerian actor, Alkali Matt who was popular for his role as Dareng in the African Magic series ‘Halita’ has passed away while on set.
The promising actor who was also known as Bishop died while he was on set for an epic movie in a village near Keffi. According to ‘Halita’ producer, Dimbo Atiya, the fast-rising actor died from complication resulting from a blood clotting condition.
Dimbo Atiya confirmed the death through her Facebook post where he wrote:
‘’Familiar Grounds Media would like to send our deepest condolences to the family of ALKALI MATHEW who played the role of DARENG on the TV series HALITA.
He was one of our much-valued cast, who died on the 24th of March 2020. This extremely sad event took place suddenly while he was filming on another epic movie in a village near Keffi. This has come as a rude shock to us all and we pray that the Lore will grant his family the fortitude to bear this great loss’’
Alkali Matt who featured in several Nollywood movies among which are ‘Six Pack’, ‘Trace’ and ‘Halita’ died aged 36 years. The news of his death has since been a shock to his numerous fans. The Kaduna-born actor who was also known to be a singer, songwriter, model, and instrumentalist will be sorely missed.
