Sheer luck or abrupt survival instincts, whatever comes to mind regarding Senator Ifeanyi Ubah’s near-death experience and how he narrowly escaped the sporadically fired shots by gunmen in Enugu State, is still a shock to many Nigerians.
A miracle, magic or some other incomprehensible force, some have used in describing how he managed to skip death, while his escorts weren’t so fortunate.
In a trending video uploaded to a Twitter status, under the search Ifeanyi Ubah, the orderlies attached to the Senator reached their final destinations in the hands of some unidentified arm-bearers.
They were brutally killed as bullet wounds and blood could be seen on the tragic site of the incident that occurred at Enugwu-Ukwu, in Enugu State.
No fewer than five bodies of the escorts were seen at the scene of the attack, although some papers reported ten bodies, even as many onlookers screamed in agony, crying over the death of the security operatives.
Twitter was filled with condolence messages and posts about how vulnerable the rich and poor are now in Nigeria, while still calling on the authorities to safeguard the lives and properties of the Nigerian citizens.
