Given the comment made by famous Billionaire and the co-founder of Microsoft Corporation, Bill Gates about the low COVID-19 cases in Africa, many Nigerians have lambasted him.
Gates had while speaking on the cases of COVID-19 cases in Africa wondered why Coronavirus cases and deaths were low in the Continent as against the casualty figures in developed countries.
He, however, said it was possible that the figures provided were not factual given the gaps in health care systems in Africa.
According to a report on his website, the billionaire explained that the early lockdown imposed by some African countries could be responsible for the low rate of COVID-19 cases.

He added that another reason may be that the population is young compared to the rest of the world, noting that young people are less susceptible to the virus.
Taking to social media to react to the recent comment credited to Gates, many Nigerians wondered why he was interested in seeing a high rate of COVID-19 infections in Africa.
Reacting via tweets, some Nigerians opined that Gates might be concerned because of his alleged interest in getting COVID-19 vaccines to Africa.
At the inception of the COVID-19 outbreak, the Billionaire and his wife, Melinda Gates, had predicted that Africa would be worst hit by COVID-19.
