Nigerian Army has recorded a major victory over terrorists in Bida and several other parts of Niger State and its environment.
Reports revealed that more than two hundred terrorists and bandits were killed, but a few officers tragically also paid the ultimate price with their lives in the fight to restore peace in the state.
Yesterday in Minna, the news of their gallantry was communicated to journalists by the Niger State Commissioner of Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs and Internal Security, Emmanuel Umar.
He also revealed that most of the stolen cattle numbering about sixty were recovered in the process and have since been returned to the owners.
Continuing with the delightful news, the commissioner stated that up to four of the bandits‘ leaders were killed during the fierce battle as some other affiliated members managed to escape but not without gunshot injuries.
He said, “Yesterday, our Joint Security Taskforce engaged groups of terrorists that have been terrorising us for the past few days. We believed that these groups belong to the notorious commander, Ali Kayaje, Yellow Chabros, Katchalla Halilu and Bello Turechi. Most of their commanders were neutralised.”
