The Nigerian Army has countered the reports about the rescue of the remaining Chibok Girls in the Boko Haram sect camp.
Speaking during an operational visit to Operation Lafiya Dole’s theatre command in Maiduguri, the chief of defence staff (CDS), Lucky Irabor said no Chibok girl was in the custody of the Nigerian Army.
According to the newly appointed chief of defence staff, the military did not rescue any Chibok girl from the Boko Haram sect camp during a recent northeast operation.
Irabor further stated that the military desired to get the Chibok girls back safely.
Earlier, a military source had revealed that Hauwa Halim Maiyanga, one of the abducted Chibok girls was recently rescued following a series of operations in Sambisa Forest.

The source added that troops have been bombarding the Sambisa forest and Boko Haram hideouts in the operations Tura Takaibango and Lafiya Dole for a month now.
Everyevery.ng had reported that many abducted Chibok girls escaped from their abductors following attacks on some of the Boko Haram hideouts’ in the Sambisa forest.
Speaking, a parent, Malam Madu, said the Chibok community is pleased with the report adding that the girls are currently with the security operatives.
Another source revealed that one Halima Ali said to have been married to a Boko Haram commander is among the escapees.
Meanwhile, the Secretary, Chibok Parents Association, Lawal Zannah, said that some of the girls had escaped.
