The clinical trials of Hydroxychloroquine as a treatment for the Coronavirus is going to continue in Nigeria according to the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC).
Despite the World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General having earlier stopped the trials of hydroxychloroquine on Monday as a cure for coronavirus.
Speaking about the development on TVC News on Tuesday, the NAFDAC Director-General, Prof. Mojisola Adeyeye said the country’s trial will continue without any effect from the decision of the WHO. She also asked for the WHO to provide the details of the study it conducted to make it stop it’s own trials.
The Director-General also noted that the NAFDAC is yet to receive the herbal remedy gotten from Madagascar that has been touted as a cure for the coronavirus.
