Operatives of the Economic Financial Crime Commission have reportedly drilled Honourable Adebo Ogundoyin, the Speaker of Oyo Speaker, and some other House leaders over the alleged N1.03 billion purchase of refurbished vehicles for House members.
According to SaharaReporters, EFCC operatives arrested Ogundoyin and other members around 8 am on Thursday and released them around 7 pm the same day.
The media outlet claimed that a source close to the Assembly confirmed their arrest but refused to give the names of the lawmakers arrested. The source added that the Oyo Speaker was fully involved in the purchase of the vehicles.

Earlier, Tosin Ojaomo, a former prosecutor with the Special Presidential Panel on Recovery of Public Property had petitioned the EFCC over allegations of a scam in purchasing about N1.03 billion official cars for Oyo Assembly members.
Ojaomo claimed that the alleged scam was discovered when some of the 33 cars supplied by the contractor started having mechanical and electrical problems a few days after delivery to the lawmakers.
However, the Lawyer asked the anti-graft agency to recover the total contract sum from the firm. Reacting, the Chairman, House Committee on Information, Kazeem Olayanju, described the allegations against the Oyo Speaker and other members as baseless.
