The storyline of Overcomer is about a high school basketball coach (John) who watches his star athletes relocate due to the bad economic situation of his town and is forced by the principal to take over a cross-country program with only one runner (Hannah) who is asthmatic and this lives him miserable.
It happens that John lost sight of who he was and visits the hospital with his pastor. There he had a life changing moment where he stumbles on a man (Thomas) who lost his sight due to severe diabetes.
Turns out the man is a former cross-country star and is also Hannah’s dad who abandoned her when he was a druggie.
Thomas convinces John to get it right with God because he (Thomas) found his true vision in God.
John and his wife introduce Hannah to her dad to the disapproval of her Grandma (Barbara). If you love faith based movies, this is a good watch.
