Men and officers of the Nigerian Military have reportedly killed several terrorists after they successfully launched an attack on Sambisa forest in Borno State.
This was contained in a statement issued by the Coordinator, Defence Media Operations, Major General John Enenche on Tuesday, December 29, 2020.
Enenche revealed that the operation which took place on Monday, 28th December was conducted by the Air Task Force of Operation Lafiya Dole.
Military Launches Attack On Sambisa Forest
According to the Military Spokesperson, some of the terrorists who attacked Borno and Adamawa State recently were part of those killed by the airstrike.
He noted that the air interdiction missions being conducted by the Air Task Force of Operation Lafiya Dole have continued to deal decisive blows on terrorist elements in the North East of the Country.
Enenche added that the airstrike was carried out after series of Intelligence, Surveillance missions revealed that the terrorists responsible for recent attacks in the Southern part of Borno and the Northern part of Adamawa State had originated from the location.
He opined that some of the structures and logistics stores used by the terrorists including a suspected anti-aircraft gun station were destroyed while several insurgents were also neutralized in the process.
