Zindzi Mandela, Nelson Mandela’s daughter passes on at 59.
Zindziswa ‘Zindzi’ Nobutho Mandela, the youngest daughter the first South African black president, Nelson Mandela and Winnie Madikizela- Mandela has passed on this morning at age 59.
At the time of her death, Zindzi Mandela was South Africa ‘s ambassador to Denmark . She also served as the Deputy President of the Soweto Youth Congress and in the MK Veterans Association in the Lesley Moatshe Branch. She was very involved in philanthropic activities around the country.
Although the cause of death is yet to be identified, he death was confirmed by a family member.
Naledi Pandor, International and co-operation minister expressed shock as she said,
‘Zindzi will not only be remembered as the daughter of our struggle heroes, Tata Nelson and Mama Winnie Mandela but as a struggle heroine in her own right. She served South Africa well’
Her death was announced on SABC , the broadcaster reported,
“The 59-year-old daughter of former president Nelson Mandela and struggle stalwart Winnie Madikizela-Mandela, passed away at a Johannesburg hospital in the early hours of the morning,”
