Manchester City is already preparing for life after Sergio Aguero, who will leave the Etihad at the end of this season.
Pep Guardiola’s side has identified the player to replace their all-time top scorer this summer transfer window.
Aguero’s deal with Man City will end at the end of this present campaign, and the Premier League leaders have said they are not renewing.
Who do Man City want to replace Aguero?
According to the UK Sun, Man City wants Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland to be a long-term replacement for Aguero.
The Man City board hopes emotional leverage will play in their favour for a potential deal for the Norway international, with Haaland’s father Alf-Inge having played for the club between 2000 and 2003.
The Citizens will face stiff competition for Haaland, with Chelsea, Real Madrid, Manchester United and Barcelona also interested in the 20-year-old.
Haaland has scored 25 goals and provided one assist in 25 Bundesliga matches for Dortmund so far this season and has ten goals from six games in the Champions League.
