The Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde has bared his mind on the 2023 Presidency and the calls for restructuring in Nigeria.
According to the governor, by 2022 Nigerians will be able to determine whether they need restructuring or a Yoruba presidency, given the rate at which some Nigerians have been clamouring for power to be rotated to the Southern region of the country come 2023.
He opined that what Nigeria truly needs right at a time like this is restructuring and not where the next President would emerge from.
Makinde Speaks On 2023 Presidency
The governor noted that he has heard some of the political leaders jostling around and saying they want to become the President of Nigeria in 2023 adding that it doesn’t matter who the President is if the country is restructured.
Makinde said in a restructured Nigeria, every corner of the country will feel the impact of the government.
He made this known when he handed over 33 additional operational vehicles and 396 motorcycles to the Oyo State Security Agency, popularly known as Operation Amotekun in Ibadan.
The Governor stated that the 351 motorcycles are for each ward in Oyo State, while 45 motorcycles will go to the headquarters as he also reiterated his government’s support for Amotekun to secure every part of the state.
