King of the Icons, Laycon shares more as he takes his fans along on his journey to fame with his first upload on his youtube channel.

Laycon recently released a video titled ‘Laycon- The Journey(Prequel)’, and this video had him telling his fans how he started the year 2020. Speaking about his music streams, he said that he had gotten 25,000 streams on his E.P, ‘Who Is Laycon’ just weeks after its release on April 2nd.

He said that he worked so hard to push the E.P to the point of sending DMs and emails to his contact – some still probably unread. However, the digital streaming platforms soon developed issues forcing Laycon and his team to adopt social media marketing.

He laughed over when he had only 15 people join his live video but thankfully had amazing colleagues like Brainy and Oxlade who helped promote him.

5 months and a BBNaija season later, Laycon is one of the biggest names in the country. The singer recalls how all he thought about on the final day was how he could not wait to go back to push his music, not knowing the battle his Icons were fighting for him outside.

He shared a couple of first-time experiences, including the first time he rode a bicycle and the first time he entered a plane on a trip to Owerri.

When he wants to be himself, the artiste said that he would put on so many clothes, wear a mask and shades but still be discovered from his gait.

With a few words of encouragement, Laycon looks forward to growing and improving in this new and interesting life he has, ‘A Worldwide Movement’ he terms it.
