Lai Mohammed Reacts To Calls For Buhari’s Resignation

The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed has reacted to the calls for President Muhammadu Buhari‘s resignation given the recent killing of 43 rice farmers in Borno State.

During a meeting in Lagos, Mohammed described the calls as cheap and irresponsible as he also opined that such calls amounted to playing dirty politics with the issue of security in the country.

The Minister further stated that the calls for Buhari’s resignation every time there is a setback in the war against insurgency is a needless distraction and cheap politicking.

Calls For Buhari’s Resignation

According to the Minister, President Buhari was elected in 2015 for a four-year term and re-elected in 2019 for another four-year term, hence no amount of hysterical calls for resignation will prevent him from serving out his term.

He noted that before the President assumed office, Boko Haram could stroll into any city to carry out deadly attacks adding that Boko Haram sect has been badly degraded and can only carry out cowardly attacks.
