The Lagos state commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr Gbenga Omotoso has revealed that his counterpart in the Ministry of Health, Professor Akin Abayomi has recovered from COVID-19 infection.
Omotoso, who made this known in a statement issued on Monday confirmed that Abayomi retook a COVID-19 PCR test which returned negative on Sunday evening.
According to the statement, the Health commissioner is humbled by the deep concern shown and expressed by Executive Council members, civil servants, Lagos residents and Nigerians, home and abroad.
He stated that Abayomi would be returning to his full duties gradually adding that the state Governor, Babajide Sanwo Olu felt excited by the news, and urged people of the state to continue to obey the COVID-19 guidelines.
You will recall that Everyevery.ng had earlier reported that Abayomi tested positive to COVID-19 after close contact with COVID-19 patients.
