Survivors of the Coronavirus in Lagos State have now formed the #Lagoscovid-19gang and also created a WhatsApp group after surviving the virus and getting discharged from the isolation centres across the state.
According to a Lagos State survivor, Emmanuel Asika, who narrated his ordeal in the hands of the virus while speaking on a television program, a bond was formed among the Coronavirus victims at the state isolation centre, and they have been able to leverage on that after their recovery.
Emmanuel stressed that they have been communicating and ensuring that they educate others on what it feels like to contract the virus and most importantly the need to take the precautionary measures like the lockdown, personal hygiene, social distancing among many others seriously.
He said they also have a Whatsapp platform with which they communicate and make plans on how to support the government in the fight against the virus.
The survivor, however, stressed that before the news of his status went viral in his residential estate, his neighbours did not take the lockdown order seriously, but they realised the importance after they heard the news that someone in their neighbourhood has tested positive for Coronavirus.
He, however, advised that persons who have contracted the virus should not hide at home because of fear of what to expect as living conditions at the isolation centres, clarifying that the isolations centres are not as bad as they think.
Emmanuel while appreciating the sacrifices of the frontline health workers, called on state governments to ensure that this group of professionals are well taken care of while expressing confidence that the Lagos State government will fulfil its promises to them.
