Reality TV star, Kim Kardashian, has been legally declared single, a year after filing for divorce from rapper husband, Kanye West now known as ‘Ye’.
The 41-year-old filed to be declared single in December 2020 while requesting separate child custody and property from her marital status in a long divorce row.
However, in February 2021, her petition was challenged by Ye who rued the adverse consequence the declaration might have on their four children and marital assets.
No Turning Back for ‘Single Kim’
The Kardashian queen responded by expressing her desire to be divorced from Ye because he could not keep their personal issues private.
Kim who also accused Ye of misinforming the public about their family issues, said, “I ask that the Court restore me to the status of a single person so that I can begin the healing process and so that our family can begin the healing process and move forward in this new chapter in our lives.”
In a ‘Page Six’ report, Judge Steven Cochran of Los Angeles Superior Court on Wednesday declared Kim single.
Ye has never hidden his desire to keep his family together since the news of their potential divorce hit the airwaves in 2021.
Things took a different turn in October when Kim went public on her romance with comedian and actor Pete Davidson.
Ye in retaliation also went public on his romance with his now-estranged girlfriend Julia Fox.
