Killer house help has confessed how she brutally murdered Lucky Igbinedion’s mother in Edo State before running away to escape the long arms of the law.
The twenty-five-old female maid, Dominion Okoro, who hails from Cross River State, gave a detailed narration on how she killed the aged woman, Madam Maria Oredola Igbinedion, 85, mother of the former Governor of Edo State.
Okoro confessed to smashing the head of late Madam Maria with a stool in the early hours of December 2, a couple of years ago, ensuring that she was dead before carting away with some valuables of the deceased.
The housemaid had only worked for a year and three months before committing the crime. Also, she admitted to carting away with one hundred thousand naira (N100,000), a wristwatch and jewellery from the residence of the Igbinedions at the Government Reservation Area, GRA, Benin-city, Edo State.
Killer House Help Paraded by Police
The suspect was paraded at Edo State Police Headquarters, NPF in Benin-city after verbally admitting to ending the life of the ex-governors mom (Madam Maria Igbinedion) in other to take her valuables.
The strange thing about the incident was that the late Mama Maria never treated the housemaid badly or poorly, as Dominion Okoro confessed that she wasn’t offended before committing the crime.
“She did not offend me. While she was sleeping on her bed around 12:01 a.m. on December 2, 2021, I used a stool to hit her on the head while she was shouting for help; the gateman was the only person around but did not hear the shout, so mama later died.”
The prime suspect (Dominion’s) elder sister, Patience, was arrested by the police before Dominion was later apprehended and moved to Benin for a thorough investigation.
