Sources have confirmed that Karim Benzema would be called up to France’s squad for the Euro 2020, making it the first time he will be playing for the country since 2015. Benzema had in 2015 had an acrimonious sex tape dispute with former Les Bleus team-mate Mathieu Valbuena.
Since then, the Madrid striker has not featured for the national team, having been placed on what appears as an indefinite suspension by the president of the French Football Federation, Noel Le Graet.
Le Graet insisted that Benzema’s adventure with France is over, despite repeated assertions from France icons, including Zinedine Zidane, who opined that Benzema merited a recall to the international team.
EveryEvery.ng gathered that Karim Benzema, who has scored 27 goals in 81 appearances for France, is set to be involved this summer at Euro 2020.

The speculations about Benzema making the Euro 2020 squad is coming a day after the striker was named the best French player playing outside of France.
Although Didier Deschamps had no intention to break up the squad that won the World Cup in 2018, the fact that the squad size increased from 23 players to 26 makes it easier for the Coach to call up Benzema.
