The Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, has supported the plan to stage a one million man march across the Southwest region.
Kanu noted that IPOB would stand by the organizers of the march. He described the organizers as brave men and women of Oduduwa, who planned to stage a historic rally across the Southwest.
He added that the group would also stand by all oppressed ethnic groups in Nigeria and further implored all that desire freedom to support it.
In the meantime, the umbrella body of Yoruba self-determination groups, Ilana Omo Oodua, has announced the one million man march’s postponement till further notice.
The body said the rally would be delayed to allow consultation with other Yoruba socio-cultural and self-determination groups.

The march was announced to drum up support for the actualization of the sovereignty of the Yoruba Nation.
Earlier, the IPOB leader had stated that he is for peace, not war. According to him, the IPOB is committed to non-violence but will never be cowardly.
Kanu explained that the Eastern Security Network, ESN is about self-defence, not offence. He revealed that his mission is to restore Biafra peacefully.
