Senator Shehu Sani, formerly representing Kaduna Central, unfortunately failed to lay hands on the governorship ticket under the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, as he lost to fellow party mate, Honourable Isah Ashiru.
He revealed via his Twitter handle that the delegates who gave him their votes did it willingly, adding that he did not in any way, encouraged them with any financial enticements or other promises before they cast their votes for him.

His words: “The Kaduna PDP Governorship primaries has been concluded. I lost and Honourable Isah Ashiru won. I wish to congratulate him. Two Delegates voted for me without giving them a dime; unfortunately, I don’t know who they are, so that I can appreciate these clean votes. We look forward.”
Also, one aspirant, Baba-Ahmed Datti, before the Kaduna PDP gubernatorial primaries was concluded, he withdrew from the contest and stepped down for those considered more qualified for the position.
It was gathered that Shehu Sani had constantly maintained that he will not give any delegate money to vote for him in the primaries.
According to the former Senator, he does not have the money to bribe PDP delegates, which he reportedly did, as he congratulated Isah Ashiru over the recent his victory.
The outspoken former lawmaker appreciated the two delegates that decided to vote for him despite not receiving money.
